Eerie Moon

Eerie moon,

glaring night sky eye

adrift amidst

a sun scorched sky

peers greedily

stirring fear-filled shadows,

where glowing eye prey

cower crowded in corners

of an arid clouded

heat devoured day.

Fright flights soaring

on predatory wings

strum gloom's terror on

 faint heartstrings

stalked to a reckoning,

chilled by death,

still savagely struggling,

lost no more alive,

die alone in dark's loneliness.

Eerie moon moans, no less,

her soul satisfied shine

as her prey meets unwillingly

most merciless demise.

No one can save them now,

save the morning

bringing rising sun.
